On September the students and teachers were blessed by a priest from St. Nedelya (Holy Sunday) Church. We all sang Mnogaya Leta to the recording of Boris Hristov's performance.
On September 15 students of Class 2004 and Class 2006 came to share the spirit of the day with their teachers and the new students.
We had the traditional cocktail party for the teachers in the staff room. The tables were loaded with snacks, nuts, candy, banitsa, and drinks.
Flowers were everywhere in the staff room and school offices on September 15.
On September 15 teachers walk on the streets of Bulgaria carrying flowers. This year teachers throughout Bulgaria wore ribbons with their demand for merited work and merited pay.
I met my class of 19 students in the school yard and gave them their schedule for the first semester and treated them to home-made bread (pitka). The students gave me flowers and we had a photo session .
September 15, 2007 fell on a Saturday. The opening of school year ceremony at my school began at 9 a.m. sharp. All students and teachers were welcome with home-made bread, salt and honey and crane-bill.
